This October 1xRUN in collaboration with jeffstaple took over New York City’s Reed Space for an exhibition of exclusive fine art editions by the Detroit based publisher and hand-painted multiples featuring new work from Ricky Powell, Anthony Lister, Kevin Lyons, Naturel, Mimi Yoon and Prefab77. Take a look inside the exclusive pop-up exhibition and check out the Reed Space and 1xRUN online now!
For this unique exhibition, Staple has hand-picked select artists from the 1xRUN family to remix his iconic Reed Space chair, with each artist applying their unique iconography to the classic logo. In addition to the logo remix, each artist will be releasing a limited edition print that will be exhibited and available at Reed Space exclusively for 1 week.
After building a global streetwear brand, jeffstaple continues to be instrumental in bridging the fashion world with the contemporary art movement. The collection of artists Staple has curated and assembled for this exhibition hail from every corner of the diverse new contemporary movement blending, design, illustration, photography, graffiti and public art. Each of these hand selected artists have been instrumental in their own right in sculpting the visual landscape of the urban environment.
With two equally devoted but unique fan bases, Staple and 1xRUN have found that the fans who support these designers, tastemakers, trendsetters and artists have just 1 degree of separation in terms of style and culture. This event will bring these groups together to descend upon Reed Space to celebrate the confluence of art, culture and style.
“After spending time with Jeff at POW! WOW! events in Hawaii and Long Beach this year, we wanted to bring that energy to New York City and share this movement with patrons of Reed Space and fans of Staple,” 1xRUN’s Jesse Cory said from the 1xRUN studio in Detroit, Michigan.
In addition to new works created by these 6 artists, Staple will also be pulling select editions from the 1xRUN archives, showcasing the best from over 1000 releases from the Detroit-based fine art publisher. Be sure to join us for an exhibition that is not to be missed! Follow @reedspace for all the details coming up and be sure to stay tuned for the online releases from these unique editions!
