1xRUN: Tell us a little bit about this piece, anything immediate you would like us to highlight about this image?
Dee Dee: It is really a bit of a self portrait. It is a recurring dream I have.

1x: What is unique about this piece compared with your other work?
Dee Dee: It looks different and has a different title. Due to the conditions inside my studio and the way I throw paint, each print is a bit unique. Prints may contain various splats, drips, fingerprints, cobwebs, fragments of autumn leaves and the occasional wayward spider.

1x: What was your first piece?
Dee Dee: 俺はナイフを持って来る.

1x: What artists inspired you early on?
Dee Dee: Linder Sterling showed me how to see images differently. Old punk flyers. Many that inspired me inspire me more conceptually than visually, such as David Lynch, David Bowie, Prince. Patrick Nagel. Pee Wee Herman, Wayne White, Gary Panter, Ric Heitzman.

1x: What artists inspire you now?
Dee Dee: I am not interested in people who repeat or brand themselves. My favorites are those who I never know what will come next. I find Laura Keeble endlessly inspiring. I have been looking at a lot of Egon Schiele lately. Klimt. Always Klimt.

1x: Do you listen to music while you work? If so what? If not then what is your environment like when you work?
Dee Dee: I feel music is the most important component to making my work. Lately my studio has been filled with the sounds of Brainiac, The Birthday Massacre, Devo, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, and an amazing artist from Los Angeles named Poppy Jean Crawford. I find her fabulously inspiring.

1x: If you could collaborate with any living artist who would it be and why? Any deceased artists?
Dee Dee: David Lynch. I feel we share a secret. (The latter would be) Gustav Klimt. He knew how to use gold.

1x: What was the first piece of art that you bought? Do you still have it?
Dee Dee: A copy of Duran Duran’s “Rio”, cover art by Patrick Nagel. I stared at it for hours. Yes, I still have it.

1x: Any big shows or events coming up that you’d like to share?
Dee Dee: Yes. And no.
