This past weekend, 1xRUN alumni Beau Stanton and Logan Hicks opened up their recent exhibition Calm Before The Storm at New York City’s Highline Loft. Taking inspiration from nautical superstition, flood myths, classical paintings, life changing events and the modern issue of rising seas, the artists have created dozens of new paintings and multiples. Presented by ArtNerd’s Lori Zimmer and Style Curator’s Natalie Kates the exhibition also includes along with a site-specific installation of a reconstructed ship and captain’s study by the Brooklyn duo. The immersive show rolls on until the end of the month with interactive events and talks like 1xRUN’s All Hands On Deck which found the duo back at the Highline Loft for hand-stenciling and embellishing limited editions on site. In honor of Halloween, the Calm Before The Storm will conclude on October 28th with a costume party Sailors, Sirens and Sea Monsters. The exhibition and installation will be set to an original score by Luv Jonez. Be sure to check out this exhibition before it comes down at the end of October!
