What is there to be said about artist Doze Green that hasn’t already been said?  The man is a the 8th wonder of the contemporary art world.  He can literally do anything from painting, designing, break dancing, graffiti and story telling, continually instilling faith into the art world filled with imitators.  With a clear voice and direction, his style abundantly clear as at this point he has grown into masterful artist on many levels that shows his audience an intense journey with his brush strokes.

Gods and animals flood the walls interweaving the viewer into a personal and spiritual journey.  Doze’s work is metaphysical and on a level many of us will never fully grasp.  Mr. Green has already lived a few different lives. From his early days of basically creating break dancing and the creation of the his famous “Muggsy” graffiti character, these two accomplishments alone put Doze into a category all of his own. A category reserved for a small group of  elite artists who stick to their guns and never compromise for anyone.  Visually he has found a path that every artist prays they will find one day: a defined voice with crystal clear imagery that stretches out to the milky way and back.

The wall below was created with acrylic paint and white chalk.

The most beautiful part of a Doze Green mural is the flow and freedom of his control. Every wall he paints has a precision, but you can tell the lines come from a much deeper place built from years of experimentation and elements pulled from all over the globe.

One thing everyone can take away from Doze’s work is his steadiness.  Literally and figuratively speaking the man comes correct every time with every piece he completes. From the devious days of train writing, to massive indoor murals that are a part of one of the most prestigious art events in the world, Doze Green has consistently been at the top of the game over the last 30 years. Doze Green continues to be a major player on many levels and his influence has reached far beyond the sub culture of graffiti and b-boy crews all the way to the art school freshman.
