We teamed up with Glenn Barr for his second release on 1xRUN to coincide with Lyric a group exhibition that opens this Saturday, March 19th at 323East. Glenn asked 2 dozen of his friends to create a 12 x 12 inch original painting themed after their favorite song or album. As many artists are inspired by music during long sessions of painting Glenn’s idea to bring back the lost art of vinyl albums makes for an interesting themed group show. With the energy of music and art on all of our minds Glenn sketched up a rough drawing on Vinyl Girl, then called and said “I have a great idea for a silkscreen print for 1xRUN”, so we quickly put the gears in motion, called our friends at Progress of Design and a few days later Vinyl Girl was born.
