Hoxxoh Returns with Detroit Minute

1xRUN Thru Interview
Detroit Minute by Hoxxoh

1xRun: Tell us a little bit about this piece, is the original still for sale? Was it created solely for this release or was there an original piece created?
Hoxxoh: This release is a three part series. The first part is a collaboration with the artist Brain Lacey. We recently painted a mural on 7mile and continued to collaborate at the 1xRun studio. The second part is a continuation of my Time investigations. The 3rd part is a complete series of “20.Twenty.Minutes”

1xRun: Was this piece part of a recent series or show that you had?
Hoxxoh: The Time investigation series has been a current them in my studio practices. I recently showed this body of work in Vienna Austria at the Ernst Hilger Gallery.

1xRUN: What materials did you use to create these pieces?
Hoxxoh: The pendulum consists of a ( 1liter Evan bottle ) filled with paint and suspended by a rope at a fixed point. I’m in control of the direction and speed in which the pendulum is thrown and when it stops.  The length of the rope, volume of paint within the vessel and the distance from the pendulum to surface of the circle are also controlled variables. From the moment the surface is struck by paint and until the pendulum is stopped the pattern created is mostly determined by chance. The piece as a whole is a visual representation/measurement of one hour.
