Made514 Debuts With Steel Passion

1xRun: Tell us a little bit about this piece. Was it part of a recent theme, series or show that you had?

Made514:   I really like the shape of the letters in this piece. They remind me of some kind of a bio/anatomical shape.  This piece was originally on exhibit for the Artaq in Paris and sold at the Pierre Cardin space in Paris during an exhibition. It was part of a black and white series I had done on metal plate and probably the best piece of the series. I think overall it is one of my favorite works, I like the flow and the movement it has.

1xRUN: What materials were used to create this piece with?
Made514: I painted this piece with water based enamel for the background and fine acrylic for the styles. I also used fire to burn the metal to create different kinds of shadows which gave more of a depth to the artwork. The support is a metal plate recycled from an offset printing press.

1xRun: Tell us how the idea and execution came about?
Made514: The idea came from the stream of ideas that run through my mind everyday about my styles. I don’t really think on what to do, it just pops up.

1xRun: What do you feel is unique about this piece?
Made514: I don’t usually paint the same thing twice, so this is a unique piece of artwork for that reason alone. This one is the most unique of the series due to the full circle in the background.
