1xRun: Tell us how the idea and execution came about?
Nawer: This piece was created at the end of 2013 using a mix of different materials including acrylic and spray paint on canvas. Yes, this painting is for sale right here on 1xRUN. This piece was an extension of my recent show Beyond Perfection. Perfection is what haunts me. It beguiles my imagination and disturbs my sleep. It introduces a dissonance into my perception of reality. The worst thing about perfection is that it is unattainable and that I will never achieve it. The best you can do is trying to approach it. For that reason Beyond Perfection was an attempt at escaping IT; taking a look beyond it and immersing yourself in the space other than this possessed by the unattainable. This is where I was trying to find the matter and inspiration for the series. I employed COLOR and SPACE. My aim was to help the recipients find DEPTH because depth allows to escape PERFECTION. During this journey I was searching for new materials which would match my emotions and which, with their natural forms, would deny PERFECTION. Concrete seemed an ideal pick. It is commonly associated with metropolitan urban spaces having a significant impact on the way SPACE is perceived and experienced. At first sight concrete seems flawless but once you take a closer look at its texture you know how far it is from the goddamned PERFECTION.
The works have their own code, coloring and rhythm. These function together as a whole and are intended to operate as a series of impulses and impressions; they are meant to stimulate and intensify the impressions. They form a complete collection of sensations. The choice of materials was not accidental. It is supposed to take the recipients to a space they are fully familiar with but of its crucial influence on their life they may not know. We live next door to PERFECTION but are never able to touch it.
1xRun: How long did the piece take?
Nawer: I worked on this piece for one week from start to finish.
1xRun: What is unique about this piece?
Nawer: Disco Trap is one of my favorite pieces from this most recent era 2013/14.

Nawer: DISCO. 
1xRun: When did you first start making art? What was your first piece?
Nawer: I start with classic graffiti in 1994, after my studies I start paint more geometric and abstract. I started painting on canvas around 2003-04.
1xRun: What artists inspired you early on? What artists inspire you now?
Nawer: Early on an artist that really inspired me was Cezary Stulgis aka Cruel. As for now, I tend to draw inspiration from different kind of city structures.
1xRun: Do you listen to music while you work? If so what?
Nawer: I love to work in my studio and listen different kind of music every day.
1xRun: If you could collaborate with any living artist who would it be and why? Any deceased artists?
Nawer: Fangor, Augustine Kofie, Hense, Cyrcle and a lot more… I love to paint collaboratively. For the latter it would be Kandinsky or Basquiat.
1xRun: What was the first piece of art that you bought? Do you still have it? The last?
Nawer: The first piece that I bought was from the first solo show of Robert Proch and I still have it ;] The last was another Robert Proch from his solo show in Kirk Gallery 2013 ;]
