Shipping Aakash Nihalani

(note: this blog post is more like a running story, picture-book!)

Perhaps you haven’t heard about it, but these prints were an unexpectedly new endeavor for 1xRUN. From the given web image, you can see a clear red/orange and yellow color.

When it came time to pull the squeegee on these silkscreen productions, we were hit with a surprise…

The colors (albeit an exact Pantone match), paled – literally – in comparison to Nihalani’s original work. Upon inspection by the artist, it was decided that these simply cannot do.

Chuck the ink. Start anew.

Thus began our quest for the appropriate florescent screenprinting ink. A couple of attempts proved futile, with odd blemishes resulting from the ink base and the paper fabric. Frustrated and anxious to get these into the hands of our awesome collectors, we finally devised a solution with some special-ordered paint that we haven’t printed with in the past. Mixing our newest concoction of screenprint ink, we kept our fingers crossed, and it worked!

We quickly shipped it off to the artist to sign, and we just received everything this afternoon.

Voila.

We present to you, the beautiful production that proved good enough for both the artist’s and 1xRUN’s high standards.

If you are one of the collectors of the limited edition In ‘n’ Out silkscreen, we greatly appreciate the patience you’ve allotted us – we have been eagerly awaiting this, just as you have.

Here are the prints and certificates we received, all signed by the artist…

… and packed each one the very same day.

True to our word, these are shipping to you as soon as we received them.

With appreciation to our collectors, and everyone involved in production,
