1xRUN Thru Interview
Kill Em All by Van Saro
1xRUN: Tell us a little bit about this piece is it still available?
Van Saro: The original sold right away when it went on sale about two years ago, and the original piece was painted using oil on wood.
1xRUN: Tell us when this piece was created and how the idea and execution came about?
Van Saro: This painting shows the evil that exists in all man. However, instead of using a villainous character to play the devil, I thought it would be powerful to have a baby fill that role.
1xRUN: How long did the piece take? What is unique about this piece?
Van Saro: One week from start to finish. As far as what is unique about this piece, I have n0t seen other artists combine classical art with graffiti like I do.
1xRUN: Why should people buy this print?
Van Saro: This is one of my most popular paintings.
1xRUN: Describe this piece in one gut reaction word.
Van Saro: Raw.
1xRUN: When did you first start making art? What was your first piece?
Van Saro: When I was a child. I can’t really remember.
1xRUN: What artists inspired you early on? How about now?
Van Saro: Early on it was all the graff artists from the 90’s that were killin’ it. As for now it has been classical painters like Norman Rockwell and William Bouguereau.
1xRUN: Do you listen to music while you work?
Van Saro: All types of music, from rap to classical and everything else.
1xRUN: If you could collaborate with any living artist who would it be and why? Any deceased artists?
Van Saro: Maybe Craola because I think that the contrast in our styles would fit well together. For the latter, it would be Norman Rockwell, he was my biggest inspiration.
1xRUN: What was the first piece of art that you bought? The last?
Van Saro: I’ve never really bought any, I typically will just buy art books.
Where else can people find you?
Van Saro: Website – Facebook –
