Wild At Heart 18 by Miss Van

1xRun: Tell us a little bit about this piece, is the original still for sale?
Miss Van: This piece is a classic Miss Van drawing for me. Simple, sensual and sophisticated. The original was sold at my last show in Los Angeles “Wild at Heart” this past August of 2012.

1xRun: When did you first start making art? What was your first piece?
Miss Van:  When I was 15 / 18 years old and started to study art and paint in the street at 20 ( 1993 ). My first piece was on a wall, it was some weird very graphic characters.

1xRun: What artists inspired you early on? What artists inspire you now?
Miss Van:  Vaughn Bode , Mark Ryden , and countless others…There are so many artists, I don’t like to make a list and name people.

1xRun: Do you listen to music while you work? If so what?
Miss Van: Yes , I like to put music in shuffle or some mix , then I don’t have to think about it. I listen to a lot of hip-hop, trip-hop, reggae, dancehall, oldies, soul and down tempo.

1xRun: You have done some amazing collaborations, who are some of your favorite people to work with? If you could collaborate with any deceased artists who would it be and why?
Miss Van:  Ive been doing great stuff with Dan Quintana ( L.A )  and Ciro Schu ( Sao Paulo ). [For the latter] I would pick Vaughn Bode or Salvador Dali, because they were crazy and genius and they really had their own world.
