1xRUN Through Interview
Tranceforms by Kenor
1xRUN: Tell us a bit about this piece, what materials did you use?
Kenor: I did this piece in June of 2013 using spray paint on canvas and it took me about two months to complete. In this piece I transform electronic music in pictures and deconstruct the form into what you see here.
1xRUN: What is unique about this piece?
Kenor: Electronica geo-abstract.
1xRUN: Describe the piece in one gut reaction word.
Kenor: Deconstruction of electronic abstract songs and forms.
1xRUN: When did you first start making art and what your first piece?
Kenor: I started back in 1990. My first piece was graffiti.
1xRUN: What artists inspired you early on and who inspires you now?
Kenor: Early on I was inspired a lot by electronic music and most influenced by Autechre. I really like abstract electronic music and polyrhythmic beats. As for now, I’m really inspired by Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn.
1xRUN: Do you listen to music while you work?
Kenor: The best way I can answer this is to say, I paint music. So yes, I listen to music while I work.
1xRUN: If you could collaborate with any living artist who would it be and why?
Kenor: I would like to collaborate for AUTECHRE. Him playing live music while I’m painting and interpreting his music.
1xRUN: If you could collaborate with any deceased artists who would it be and why?
Kenor: There are no dead artists with whom I would like to collaborate for. I would, however like to have worked with Mozart.
1xRUN: Where else can people find you?
Kenor: Website – Facebook
