Peeta Returns With Un-Reliable

1xRun Thru Interview
Un-Reliable (Ink) by Peeta

1xRun: Tell us a little bit about this piece, is the original still for sale?
Peeta: The original piece is no longer available.

1xRun: Was this piece part of a recent theme, series or show that you had? If so how did it fit into that given grouping?
Peeta: Not really, it is part of a 2011 production. It is part of “triple and double pieces” series where three/two different pieces differently colored coexist in the same canvas.

1xRun: When was the piece created and with what materials?
Peeta: This piece was created in November 2012 and took about 10 days more or less using mixed media on canvas, mainly airbrush.

1xRun: How did you first start painting your current 3D style?
Peeta: I did not start writing in 3D, my style got transformed into a 3D one in 2000, more or less. Before of that my style was flat, graphic and organically formed but I’ve then turned it into something twisted and round. The role of sculpture has been essential in this process: it has helped me to deeply discover and understand the rules of shadows, the disposition of colours, surfaces and shapes.

1xRun: How have you seen this style continue to evolve since you began it?
Peeta: I’m always trying to improve my technical skills. Also, despite the depth of research into technical and formal perfection, the materialness of three-dimensional painting hides a deeply spiritual side, which I am managing to enrich during the years.

1xRun: Bring us up to speed on how you wrapped up 2013?
Peeta:
I have produced really a lot, so I am very satisfied with the years that has just finished.

1xRun: Any big plans coming up as 2014 gets underway here?
Peeta:
I am dedicating myself to some great commissions and booking some very interesting exhibitions. I am keeping on studying the interaction of video mapping and sculptures and collaborating with great architectural mappers so to design unique interacting pieces of art.
