1xRUN: Tell us a little bit about this piece, is the original still for sale?
Beak McFlaps: Sorry, the original is in a private collection. I do offer a variety of pieces on my Instagram or you can email me at [email protected].
1xRUN: Was this piece part of a recent theme, series or show that you had?
Beak McFLaps: I believe it was Estria who kindly recommended a few artist from Hawaii. Being next to Katch1 and Caweeks is UP there- Very Honored!
1xRUN: What materials were used to create this piece?
Beak McFLaps: Micron #8 & #3 on watercolor paper.
1xRUN: When was the piece drawn and how long did it take to complete?
Beak McFLaps: I did this piece in late 2013 and it took me about 3 days over the course of a week to finish.
1xRUN: Anything immediate you would like us to highlight?
Beak McFLaps: Versatility- it’s my middle name by keeping the quality of art- STREET.
1xRUN: Tell us how the idea and execution came about?
Beak McFLaps: This is a piece which represents the maintenance struggles and successes in constructing our “EGO”.
1xRUN: What is unique about this piece?
Beak McFLaps: It’s my visual interpretation to nurture confidence and that fine line, if abused- it will break you.
1xRUN: Why should people buy this print?
Beak McFlaps: This is a Powerful Friendly Reminder of Y/OUR EGO. USE it Wisely.

Beak McFLaps: EGGoCentric.
1xRUN: Have you participated in Pow Wow Hawaii previously ?
Beak McFLaps: This will be my 3rd year. I am HONORED to be a part of these special and rare events that showcase my skills as well as others across the ocean. I want to put Hawaii on the map!!
1xRUN: Anybody you’d personally like to collaborate with if the opportunity presented itself?
Beak McFLaps: I just enjoy collaborating with open-minded artists. Sometimes artists are individuals who aren’t able to collaborate with other styles. I personally feed off that and am looking to see where this ALL goes.
1xRUN: As a local Hawaiian artist, what would you like for visiting artists to take away from their time in Hawaii?
Beak McFLaps: The true extent and definition of~ ALOHA. Elevating and sharing the abundance we have gathered.
1xRUN: Do you have any plans for your wall out there or are you just going to improvise it?
Beak McFLaps: I always have ideas, but the existing architecture has the main influence on a piece. Next, would be WHO I’m painting with.
1xRUN: How did 2013 wrap up for you?
Beak McFLaps: A Very Elevated, Positive, Productive Year indeed!!!
1xRUN: Aside from Pow Wow 2014, what are your plans for the new year?
Beak McFLaps: Move on UP like The Jefferson’s by creating and collaborating with like-minded artist. Connect us dots more extensively!!
