Lx One Debuts With Storm

1xRUN Thru Interview
Storm by Lx One

1xRun: Tell us a bit about this piece, what materials were used? Is it still for sale?
Lx One:
This piece was created by using acrylic and spray paint on canvas and is currently part of my private collection.

1xRun: When was the piece created and how long did it take to complete?
Lx One: This piece was created back in 2012 and was the product and support of my spontaneity. Because of this, Storm didn’t take too long. Like a day or something.

1xRun: Tell us how the idea and execution came about?
Lx One: Storm is part of my landscape series and was inspired by nature and architecture. It’s a blend of photos taken of  certain subjects and then turned into abstractions.

1xRun: What is unique about this piece?
Lx One: Each piece in this series represents a unique feeling about a moment in life, one vision in a certain instant.

1xRun: Why should people buy this print?

1xRun: Describe the piece in one gut reaction word.
Lx One: Flow.

Lx One: Vasarely, M.C. Escher, Sol LeWitt, Warhol, Malevitch, Mondrian, Buren and Van Doesburg.

1xRun: Do you listen to music while you work? If so what?
Lx One: Music is a key to inspiration for me. From Jazz, Soul, Deep Hiphop to Electronic and Experimental. At this time I’ve been listening to a mix between Nils Frahm to Mingus.

1xRun: If you could collaborate with any living artist who would it be and why? Any deceased artists?
Lx One:
It would be Jaybo Monk for the love and poetry he puts into his paintings! For the latter, I’m just fine marvel at their magic.

1xRun: What was the last piece of art that you bought?
Lx One:
The last was a Doze Green painting. doze-green-siddhartha

1xRun: Any projects or events we may have missed?
Lx One:
My recent 40jours project.  An abstract and temporary art installation, taking 40 days to create. It will return to dust.  A house before it’s renovation becomes a play ground to experiment with throughout. Day after day, the walls call out for new forms, colours and textures.  A dialogue within the space begins.  A visual and sensorial experience is born, a journey between sparsity and profusion, with colour as it’s bridge.
