Kenor Returns With Preview Tomorrow

1xRUN Thru Interview
Preview Tomorrow by Kenor

1xRun: Tell us a little bit about this piece, is the original still for sale?
Kenor:  In this painting I have merged all the styles that have developed over the last 10 years. Deconstruction, abstract geometry, dimension and movement.  The idea was to paint without sketching. A painting action reaction. With all senses open.  The original painting was 100 x 100 centimeter.  This painting was bought by a collector in England.

1xRun: Was this piece part of a recent  theme, series or show that you had?
Kenor:  This painting was the beginning of my new concept, mixing all my steps and styles of my last 10 years. Was the beginning of everything in my work. It was originally pulled from my big mural on the island of Martinique in the Caribbean.

1xRun: Tell us how the idea and execution came about?
Kenor:   The idea was born after hearing the last album of Pan Sonic Gravitoni. My work is heavily influenced by the music that created this duo of experimental techno music Finland.  Your music starts from a small sound, as a reference point, which is growing and mutating repeatedly and constantly evolving. The idea was to paint this sound.

1xRun:  How long did the piece take?
Kenor:  1 month.

1xRun: What is unique about this piece?
Kenor: The balance of chaos.

1xRun: You’ve talked about the connection between your visual art and music, how did you begin to explore that connection?
Kenor:  Well, it’s like when you go see a show has to contemporania dance, music always sounds.  We need a dance to music. The visual and the music creates a new and more powerful language, which is bound for life.

1xRun: When did you first begin incorporating music visually into your style or has it always been a key aspect of your work?
Kenor:  I have incorporated it into my style since I heard the sounds of the album” Incunabula’’ from Autechre. I started in 1994 and have been trying to paint abstract poly rhythmic sound and constantly evolving without seeking repetition.

1xRun: Bring us up to speed on how 2013 wrapped up for you?
Kenor:  The work of the dimension, the 3d and deconstruction. A new concept in the facility and the work volume.  On my trip to the Caribbean color evolved and influenced by African culture.  Influences on my trip to Art Basel Miami community Venezuelan kinetic art school. Two people that were very influential to me as 2013 wrapped up were Carlos Cruz-Diez and Jesus Rafael Soto.

1xRun: Any big events or shows that you have coming up?
Kenor:  At the end of March I will head Paris to work on a big mural and an exhibition with a few friends Satone, Point and Robert Proche. It was organized by Open space gallery and Olivier Landes.  After a trip to Morocco, and a big mural in Amsterdam I will finish the year with an exhibition at a major Paris gallery, I can not give more information of this project project yet as it is a surprise.

1xRun: Anything else that we didn’t touch on that you want to cover?
Kenor:  I’d like to talk about the great and important work that the artist Poesia from Los Angeles is doing. In the new global union of graffiti and his Graffuturism project is the most important project of the last few decades in the art world, from my point of view.  Thanks!
