Arrow Pulse HPM’s by Above
1xRun: Tell us a little bit about these pieces. Were they created solely for this release or was there an original piece created?
Above: The Arrow Pulse was one of the many popular designs I made for my recent solo exhibition “Remix” at Inner State Gallery in Detroit. I decided to make a smaller sized edition of the Arrow Pulse as this design is a popular and iconic style of the arrow. I think there might be 1-2 of the larger 24 x 24 inch Arrow pulse originals available?
1xRun: Were these pieces part of a recent theme, series or show that you had? If so how did it fit into that given grouping?
Above: Yes, the arrow pulse was part of my most recent exhibition Remix I just recently exhibited in Detroit. The arrow pulse design was one of the more iconic pieces in the Remix show. I decided that since the arrow pulse was such a popular piece in the show, that it would be great to offer these smaller 12 inch pulses in a small edition size of just 5 made.
1xRUN: What materials were used to create these pieces with?
Above: As with all my works in the Remix exhibition, each piece is made from laser cut wood panels.
1xRun: When were these pieces created and how long did they take to complete?
Above: I created the arrow pulses during my Remix exhibition in November, 2014. To finish all 5 arrow pulses. About 5 days of design, laser cutting, and painting.

1xRun: Tell us how the idea and execution came about?
Above: The pulses are part of the Remix exhibition’s body of work. I had designed the cut files on my computer with Adobe Illustrator, then had them laser cut to ensure their perfection and unison in shape. After the cuts were made I individually removed each pulse and assigned it a specific color. What you see in the finished piece is a colorfully, composed wooden arrow pulse.
1xRun: Why should people buy these pieces?
Above: The colours, the size of the artwork is great, edition size of (5) and the price is very affordable. All things considered, these 5 arrow pulses will make a great addition to your collection.
