1xRun: Tell us a little bit about these pieces. Were they created solely for this
release or was there an original piece created?
Above: The Psychedelic series were made in conjunction with my recent solo exhibition Remix. All of the Psychedelic series were designed with an emphasis on a sharp visual contrast. It’s similar to ‘Op-art’ (Optical Art) which makes your eyes trip out. It’s an effect that alters your perception as if you were on Psychedelic drugs. Some of the Psychedelic designs I made were featured in Remix, and some of them I created specifically for this series.
1xRun: Were these pieces part of a recent theme, series or show that you had? If so how did it fit into that given grouping?
Above: This particular ‘Sunset Strip’ design I made with more complexity for my solo exhibition Remix. The Remix exhibition was about interchanging and swapping different cut patterns of the same design, in different colours to achieve the final piece. The Psychedelic series achieves a similar effect but on a more basic style of blocking out colours and allowing the negative space to reveal itself.
1xRUN: What materials were used to create these pieces with?
Above: I had a laser cutter cut a 16 inch diameter circle out of wood as the base of the piece. Each piece in this series is a unique Hand Painted Multiple (H.P.M.)
I would start each piece with a color palette in mind. I used a variety of latex paint and spray paint to build up the intense coloring seen on the back ground of each work. After the paint was dry I had burned the image into my silkscreen, and printed the black design onto the wooden circle, completing the artwork.
1xRun: When were these pieces created and how long did they take to complete?
Above: I created these pieces in November, 2014. I created these five pieces all together in a batch that took about 10-12 hours to accomplish.

Above: People should buy these because they have a sharp visual effect. Each piece is unique and is affordable for those who don’t have the budget to purchase the original works.
