Peeta & The Art of Negotiation In His Latest RUN

1xRUN Thru Interview
Negotiation by Peeta

1xRun: Tell us a little bit about the original, is it still for sale? What mediums was it created with?
Peeta: Yes, the original canvas is still for sale and it is 4360 euros. The original piece was created in October 2011 with acrylic on canvas, I used an airbrush and paintbrush.

1xRun: Tell us how the idea and execution came about?
Peeta: This canvas was shown at and painted for Moniker Art Fair in London. It was a very busy period for our studio and we were in the middle of a negotiation processes to decide works prices, dates and solve all of the organization issue. “Negotiation” is the word that best describes my way of doing business. But  more deeply it also means internal negotiation for personal decisions. The chaotic background is in contrast with the clean and plain shape in the foreground. The big brush stroke in the background is composed by a tiny bit of black, pure cerulean blue and pure white not mixing them together. They are the basic color elements in the nearly exact quantity I used to create all the shades and tones that I used to paint one of my most flawless, volumetric and sharp pieces. Metaphorically, it represents the initial confusion of possibilities against the final concentration of decisions, and I think that decision is a force that make things happen.

1xRun: How long did the piece take?
Peeta: It was an intense working week of introspection and patience.

1xRun: What is unique about this piece?
Peeta:  It’s the concept and cure for details.

1xRun: Why should people buy this print?
Peeta: People should have it because it’s an artwork that I think attracts good omen for the concept I wanted to express. Again, it represents the initial confusion of possibilities against the final concentration of decisions. So it’s to remind us that decision is a risk, picking up elements from the vortex of all possibilities and arrange them together (internal negotiation) might not be always easy, but to make decisions is the only force that make good things happen in our life!

1xRun: Describe the piece in one gut reaction word.
Peeta: Action!

1xRun: What else do you have in the works?
Peeta: I’m pretty much producing Art on a daily basis, testing out some silkscreen prints and besides painting new canvases I’m sketching new sculptures projects for some public art competitions and for the future shows I’m going to have next year. Currently I’m part of a big show Singapore at Vue Privée Gallery called ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ where I’m showing some nice and large pieces on canvas and a couple of small sculptures. Currently I’m also showing a big sculpture at the Santorini Biennale of Arts, Greece. I just installed a Big sculpture at Fresko restaurant in Oslo Norway. I have some graffiti jams and meetings to attend in Greece and Germany in the next couple of weeks. Then will be the time to produce some new canvases live during Marbour Events, Marseille France where there will be a big auction the second weekend of September. Then I will paint a huge public mural in Bosnia, and i’m preparing a show in my home town Venice Italy opening at the beginning of October. After that I’ll be part of Antaragni Art Festival in India where I’ll be painting some walls.
