Ciao from the land of pizza pies and spumoni. The Venice Biennial or La Biennale di Vienzia is getting in full swing with hundreds of artists from all over the world flocking to Venice, Italy for the massive city-wide main event and specialized collateral events under the Venice Biennial’s 56th International Art Exhibition – All the World’s Futures. Now while you may not think of graffiti or street art when you think of Venice, this year’s biennial has brought some of the world’s most elite graffiti writers to town for The Bridges of Graffiti. The collateral event for All the World’s Futures features ten artists including Boris Tellegen, Doze Green, Eron, Futura, Mode2, SKKI, Jayone, Todd James, Teach and Zero-T, as well as legendary New York photographers/authors Martha Cooper and Henry Chalfont. All 10 artists have been painting together in a newly renovated warehouse bringing to life a single cohesive “Hall of Fame” within the “Arterminal” walls at the South Terminal on the island of Dorsoduro. Stay tuned this week for more updates from 1xRUN photographer and cinematographer Mike Popso who’s covering the story and more at the Venice Biennial…
