1xRun Thru Interview
Howling Masher by Angry Woebots

1xRun: Tell us a little bit about this piece, is the original still for sale?
Angry Woebots: This is a newer style I been playing with, loose and more raw. It’s the second Masher joint that I have done with 1xRun, I call it the Howler, it’s my Taiwan dedication to the heat. I travel to Southeast Asia a lot and I knew it was gonna be humid as hell, so this is homie complaining about the heat ha. The original sits on my wall back home in Los Angeles, I kinda like it and I never keep my pieces so I think I’ll keep this one.

1xRun: Was this piece part of a recent  theme, series or show that you had?
Angry Woebots: It’s my loose style, my Masher series I painted this while chillin’ at home, it’s just more raw then my older pieces. Funshit.

1xRun: When was this piece created and with what materials?
Angry Woebots: This was painted less than a month ago over few hours while kickin’ back at home. For this piece I used a mix of acrylic, spray paint and ink on wood panel.

1xRun: Tell us how the idea and execution came about?
Angry Woebots: It came about while rolling buff paint and decided to just keep the buff raw and paint the character within the raw lines.

1xRun: What is unique about this piece?
Angry Woebots: It’s of my newer series, so not many of this style has been up for grabs until now.

1xRun: Why should people buy this print?
Angry Woebots: It’s a chance to pick up one of my fresh works, looks dope framed up and your homies gonna wanna take it from you.

1xRun: Describe this piece in one gut reaction word.
Angry Woebots: Spontaneous and Random.

masherheroblog1xRun:  You have traveled a bit throughout Asia, but this is your first time in Taiwan correct? What are you looking forward to ?
Angry Woebots: Since I’m from Hawaii when I participate with POW! WOW! I’m usually staying with my family, this time I’m bunched up with all the artists under one room, so it’s like camp. A lot of of shit talking, beers and laughing. I always wanted to come to Taipei, heard about the eats here and I love food, so it’s all about friends, paint and food. It’s golden. Especially if it’s the experience with my fellow Hawaiians and paint homies. It’s a blast.

1xRun: Have you mapped out your plans for your wall for Pow Wow Taiwan or will you be improvising once you get to the wall?
Angry Woebots: Got some ideas, just gonna get the paint on the wall and see where it goes. Masher style.

1xRun: You’re definitely staying busy as 2014 rolls on, what else do you have after Pow Wow Taiwan?
Angry Woebots: I have Richmond Mural Project in June, releasing my UNCRWND Panda Resin with Silent Stage Gallery (above). In July I’m doing a mural Jam up in the Swiss Alps, then Comic Con San Diego with a bunch of product releases then August doing another mural festival in Mongolia. I am pretty lined up into next year but that’s the line up for summer.

1xRun: Anything you’d like to add that we didn’t touch on?
Angry Woebots: Mad respects to 1xrun for letting me rock out with ya’ll again. Quality shit all the time! Don’t sleep.
