Inner State Gallery is proud to present Seminatural the first United States solo exhibition by Australian artist Beastman aka Brad Eastman opening June 24th. Expressed through a distinctive style that has evolved over the last decade, Beastman’s colorful new abstract works have developed through a disciplined repetitive process of measurement and balance. The result of this elaborate process is an interconnected series of vibrant paintings on wood that explore themes of biodiversity, geology, hemeroby, regeneration, growth and universal expansion.
“These new paintings are a further expansion of my ongoing body of artwork, with a definite increase in the use of colour, geometry, measurement, depth, balance and movement. I created all these pieces in Bali, Indonesia, and I think it’s visually evident in the work that I have been influenced by my surrounding natural environments and landscapes.” Beastman said.
In his latest work, Beastman takes us on a journey exploring the beauty of nature and the human impact on our future environments. Behind subtle references of human presence and potential new life forms through his recurring eye motif, Beastman showcases his unique signature style, juxtaposing colorful geometric compositions and organic abstract elements, against bold black lines.
With an extensive body of murals around the globe, Beastman’s large scale public works can be seen in Australia, Hong Kong, Tel Aviv, Dubai and beyond. In preparation for Seminatural, Beastman heads to Detroit for three weeks, as he visits the Motor City for the first time working with 1xRUN’s Artist In Residence program.
