Shepard Fairey & Aryz Murals In Detroit

This has been a massive week for massive new murals in Detroit, as both Shepard Fairey and Aryz have begun creating large scale works in downtown Detroit. With his latest mural Fairy hit yet another milestone with what will be his largest mural to date and possibly the largest painting in the city of Detroit. Measuring 60 x 184 feet Fairey’s infamous iconography sits on the back of the Bedrock building in Detroit’s Campus Martius. As part of a continuing series of mural projects by Library Street Collective, Fairey’s wall also coincides with his Printed Matter exhibition which opens this Friday. In addition, Spanish artist Aryz is also wrapping up work on his latest mural. 1xRUN photographer Mike Popso snapped some photos of the new pieces going up throughout downtown Detroit…

Not to be outdone, Spanish artist Aryz is also working a gigantic wall of his own for Library Street Gallery’s Public Matter series. Check out progress photos below as well as video from the artist.
